PS Cafe @ Paragon

72 hours had passed since Sunday left me high and dry. I worked extra hard to forget the longing and hoped that 24 would turn 12. That Monday and Tuesday would cheer and eat and dress like Sunday. Who was I kidding? Sundays are meaningless if not for the torturous Mondays, Tuesdays……That’s life.

Meeting that Wednesday evening was pleasant. I couldn’t wait to tell the day how much I missed Sunday and how bad Monday and Tuesday had been to me.

A disappointing dinner.

Silence.

Instead of offering a piece of consolation, it led me to a building with a façade cramped with the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Ferragamo. As if hypnotized, those words appeared oblivious, just like the hordes of pedestrians crossing the busy Orchard Road. I believe I knocked a few shoulders. Yet, the road still felt empty. I only had Monday, Tuesday and that dinner to blame.

The cubes of sugar at PS Cafe reminded me again of Sunday. Sitting across the ProjectShop(PS) boutique, I composed myself to read the menu written on the pillar of the extended open area of the cafe. I chose desserts, to see how Sunday would feel like on a Wednesday. And to forget the disappointing dinner, definitely.

There came the G3 Cheesecake (S$9.90). The three Gs represent the main flavouring ingredients; green apple, ginger and green lime. Firm and moist, the cake’s texture was lovely. Taste-wise, it was aptly sweet but lacked the level of tanginess I expected, in the presence of green apple and lime. An additional scoop of vanilla ice cream (S$2.00) provided a good contrast to the warm cake. Like how Saturdays complement Sundays.

Observing my surrounding, not all Wednesdays were sad. Most were happily chatting away, with scrumptious food in hand and/or mouth.

I suppose the Homemade Steamed Lemon Pudding (S$12.90) was intended to sedate the Wednesdays. To transport them to Sunday. To assure that Thursdays will be less painful. Exuding a strong butter/lemon scent; the soft, sweet and moist pudding was by all means, alluring. The pouring of the caramel and the scoop of vanilla ice cream enhanced the sweetness of the ensemble and provided a smoother, richer texture. A piece of well-deserved heaven, this.

Wednesday?

Like the infatuation for Sundays, we often overlook what’s right in front of us. Like Wednesdays or any other non-Sundays. Or even Saturdays, for that matter.

It’s a pity because I would have missed the raved PS Cafe.

And that's 120 hours before the next Sunday.

you cant have eaten all that by YOURSELF surely? you know, i can understand why they dont make it too tangy, ....most asians dont really like sour leh. a rare breed, us who like that zing that assails the palette. what a great idea though, 3G cheesecake. gonna try to make. its baked right?

eh, looking at the pic again, u SURE its a cheesecake ah, or is it just cream cheese frosting? looks very buttery cake like to me.

fatboybakes, no lar, how to eat all by myself? haha! i'm not that much of a sweet person lar..haha!

yeah, the G3 idea was definitely interesting. and yupe, it was baked. how sharp of you to realise that it was a buttery cake! you are right, cheese only applies to the frosting. misleading name hor? oh, you need guinea pig for your G3 cake??? hehehe...

I've no problem with weekdays as long as I don't have to work :) Otherwise, err can share the dessert ah?

Well I say it's better to have dreary Mondays and Tuesdays than to lose a big chunk of Monday and Thursday to the unnecessarily created traffic jams.

But back to desserts, 3G sounds like a good combo of stuff, but I'm sure FBB can create a better one. Is this sucking up, or sucking up? :-D

lyrical lemongrass, wow...deep stuff there...but i agree lar. some things are absolutely unnecessary...like those traffic jams. time is money is food leh, hor?

I have faith in FBB as well. whatever you do, you will still hafta queue. i'm getting the first piece ;)

G3? Hmm... what other combinations can we have? How about D2 or D24? Hehe. (Sorry, still somewhat durian-crazed at the moment.)

And LL? I'm VERY sure FBB can make a better version of G3. *joins the sucking up line*

3G cake seems really good..
a good weekend certainly starts with dragging weekdays..they make a good pair..

J2Kfm said...

nah ... weekdays cant be THAT bad?
sometimes work is fine, though not overloading oneself with it.

though nothing beats relaxing on a Sunday.

3G cake? fused with that much flavours, sure it's nice ah?

its good to know that you appreciate time , as getting nearer to your destiny ( surely can't be cheese cakes). you will sorely miss what you din do and maybe tingingly regret what you did. so just feel and taste deep and relish , like now ( what time issit ...never mind)

sigh..too much sweets over the last two weeks..

and now u make my monday real bad..bcoz sunday is 7 days away and wednesday is still a bloody 2 days away..argh..

ai wei, hehehe...i love saturdays as well...cuz there's always sunday, right? ;) i agree!

teckiee, hahaha! nama memang hi-tech, kan?...but the rasa tak lar hi-tech sangat...hehehe

christine, definitely! that's ying & yang, that's the way of life, i guess...like they said, no pain, no gain, right? hehehe

j2fkm, no lar, not all workdays are THAT bad...hahha! i do enjoy my wednesdays sometimes...with good food...hehehe :)

as for the G3 cake, i thought the idea was interesting...but the flavours of the 3 ingredients were rather mild, i thought.

backstreetgluttons, how true! to appreciate and immerse oneself into the realm of time is truly a significant affair. it is when time is spent fully regardless of 'time' that we say be proud and say, never mind!

joe, yeah, i had too much sweet as well...hehehe...well, there's always youtube and blogging between mondays and wednesdays, right?...hehehe...
