ས་ག་ཟླབ

The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart.

The foot feels the foot when it feels the ground.

The mind is everything. What you think you become.

He who experiences the unity of life sees his own self in all beings, and all beings in his own self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye.

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.

The purpose of our lives is to be happy.

My religion is very simple.

My religion is kindness.

We almost wanted to say , eating 3X a day is a sin and so we must from now , stretch out our 1Meal(1Malaysia my foot!) to become 'continue from just now'...

Its good to reflect and ask what are we doing short time here on this earth , if not to serve ? We are now enlightned ...

TQ

Out of the 5 sins, I've committed 1 on Wed, 1 on Thurs and another 1 for the rest of the days. I think I should go meditate under the tree and get enlightenment.

thenomadGourmand, i actually thought of contentment while slurping down that simple, delicious bowl of vegetarian vermicelli. Happy Wesak Day to you too!

lyrical lemongrass, Happy Wesak Day to you too, dear! Wishing you a speedy recovery! Rest well, ya!

backstreetgluttons, you are welcome, team! :) often, we forget compassion and respect. we get lost in trying to make a stand that might not always be the best, even for ourselves. where does this lead to? violence and anger, among other mistakes we read once too often in the news. may the joy of peace reign in our minds and our surroundings again.

xiu long bao, aiyoh, why go through all the trouble leh? you can start by engaging yourself in some charitable organisations. isn't that a more practical approach. i know of one! ;D

selba, rambutan? hahaha! glad you liked the pictures and the words! ;D i think that it is good to have words like these to keep us sane from the madness around us. and yes, i do celebrate wesak! ;D among others. in fact, i celebrate every public holiday! ;D wow, u even got the Wesak year! thank you! ;D

babe_kl, thank you so much! there's nothing like a spiritual celebration to remind us of what's important in life, regardless of our religions and beliefs. may we all be blessed with good health and peace, always. ;D

tummythoz, thank you thank you! Glad you like 'em post and Happy Wesak Day to you! ;D

Are you a buddhist, hairy? I know one of the most important teaching in buddhism is detachment. But I am having some internal conflicts and cannot seem to let go. Sigh.. I know it's all in the heart and mind, but I really wish I could visit a temple right now and let the spiritual peacefulness usually found there wash over me and cleanse the turbulence away.

Nothing is permanent and the only certainty in life is uncertainty. So true of my life right now.
